Intelligent Regeneration

Regeneration can be a long and tedious process in some water softeners. But with this water softener, the fact is quite different. The 5600 SXT system calculates the amount of water consumption in the house. And based on the need, the system automatically changes its settings to match the water needs.

Digital Display

The Fleck 5600SXT allows you to quickly check the system performance status in the digital display. You can keep track of the water consumption rate, water regeneration time, and other codes for troubleshooting.

Fleck has designed the 5600 SXT to be maintenance-free. You only need to do the salt refills every few months. The regeneration rate adjusts automatically according to water usage in the house. This means that you don’t even need to remember turning the device off, as it stops regenerating water if it is not in use.

High Flow Rate

Fleck 5600 SXT has a flow rate of 12 gallons per minute. The water pressure is enough to prevent the formation of scales on fixtures, faucets, or on the inside of the pipes. Further, regardless of multiple outlets, you will not experience any pressure drop while using water.

Filtering Capacity

The 5600 SXT has a capacity to filter 48,000 grains of hard minerals. You can use water simultaneously while initiating water regeneration. The system uses 10% cross-linked resins for longer life. The carbon media with coconut shells removes ions like chlorine, iron, and other sediments through absorption and supplies soft water.

The system of 5600 SXT does not undergo backwash after regeneration. So no backwash means no electricity is required. It is a very efficient technology requiring no inputs.

Dual Tank

The primary feature of this water softener is the inclusion of two powerful American-made tanks. These tanks offer excellent water softening as they get to share the load between one another.

Precise performance

One thing you should keep in mind is that this is not a water filter, so it won’t get rid of chlorine. Its main purpose is softening the water by removing the magnesium and calcium sulfate responsible for making the water hard. Also, this water softener doesn’t remove iron. The upflow carbon and reverse osmosis (RO) gave a filtering power. RO removes up to 96% of contaminants found in tap water.

Step 1: Turn off the water supply.

Step 2: Prevent air breaks and backflow by placing it close to the drain.

Step 3: Check if the softener tank is in level and stands securely.

Step 4: The distributor tube flush should be cut with the top of the tank.

Step 5: Use silicon for lubricating the distributor and tank O-ring seals.

Step 6: Place the control valve on the tank.

Step 7: Connect the Drain Line Flow Control fitting (DLFC) to the drain using nothing but Teflon tape as a sealant.

Step 8: Check if the brine tank is in level and stands securely.

Step 9: Add 1-inch water above the grid plate or fill it to the top of the aircheck if no grid plate is used.

Step 10: Set the unit in bypass mode.

Step 11: Turn the main water supply to check for any leaks

Step 12: Let the system flush all debris by opening a cold water outlet nearby.

Step 13: Close the outlet.

Step 14: Switch from bypass mode to service mode and let the water flow into the resin tank.

Step 15: When full, reopen the cold water outlet to purge all air from the system.

Step 16: Supply power to the unit.

Step 17: Once the unit connects to the power source, set the softener into bypass mode.

Step 18: Fill the brine tank with salt as required (by the manufacturer).

Step 19: Open the bypass valve and let all the remaining air run down the drain line.

Step 20: Allow the system to run through a complete backwash cycle (optional) and check for leaks.

Our Opinion

The ABCwaters Fleck 5600 SXT water softener can be the perfect choice for you if you have a medium family with up to 6 members. The advanced water softening technology can treat and soften hard water of various grades with ease. The system ensures there is no water wastage and supplies soft water without using any electricity. Adding to that is the excellent customer support to help you with installation, operation, and management.

Here’s how you can calculate how many grains you need in a water softener.

First, multiply the number of members in your family with the average gallons of water used per day (around 70 gallons).
Now, multiply the answer by your water hardness in grains per gallon (to convert mg/l or ppm to grains, divide by 17.1)
If there’s presence of iron (which is not visible but leaves reddish-brown stains), add 5 grains for every ppm of iron.
The resulting number is your grains per day.

To check the hardness of your water, you can use a simple soap kit that will measure grains of hardness. The higher the amount of soap dissolved in the water specified, the degree of hardness increases.

The grain capacity of a water softener is the maximum number of grains of water hardness the unit can remove prior to regeneration.
