Environmental degradation and the climate change have become one dire topic of concern throughout the globe.
Environmentalists have been working for the protection of the environment for decades.
Environmentalists are those people who are concerned about the welfare of the environment and its protection sustainably. They create a positive influence on the environmental development in any country.
There are several duties that an environmentalist includes. They collect, analyze, and interpret the information intended to create accepted solutions regarding the environmental problems and the issues.
Because of the skill of the environmentalist, they do maintain and carry out the task that creates welfare of the environment.
The environmentalist identifies the environmental issues and recommends numerous sectors or approaches, leading to a cleaner and greener environment.
It’s not that the environmentalists are silent in their act, but over the years, despite trying and acting wisely, they are failing to attempt to stop the climate crisis.
The following are why the environmentalists are failing to stop the climate crisis described briefly.
Table of Contents
1. Lack of greener lifestyle

All across the world, environmentalists cannot provide a greener lifestyle. There are several reasons behind it.
People are compelled to go through the traditional approach concerning the fuel system because of the expensive fuels, weak alternative options for energy, and machinery, including the daily use products.
There could be a cascade hamper in the sustainability of nature. It could increase greenhouse gas emissions, thereby contributing to global warming.
Once the globe is hit by global warming, it’s sure to arise from the climate crisis for a prolonged period.
2. Inadequate geographical data

It’s pretty blatant that climate change and environmental problems could severely impact almost all sectors worldwide.
There are a lot of unexplored environmental change effects on the Earth. The total data regarding climate change and the crisis on water, pollution, biodiversity, forestry, agriculture have not been collected and recorded worldwide.
It is impossible to know each detail of the climatic crisis impacts based on the geographical evidence, resulting in inadequate information.
As a result, due to the inadequate geographical data, the environmentalists, despite their efforts, are failing to stop the climate crisis.
3. Improper environment study
Concerning the environment sector, most people, specifical environmentalists, focus on their job; instead of the environment’s welfare.
There is limited study targeting the environmental hazards in pollution, biodiversity, water, and agriculture.
Unless there is an inclusive effort from all, undoubtedly, there will be a lack of good service and adequate study on the environment.
4. Lack of awareness and carelessness

Some people may not have a specific idea of the impacts of the environmental deterioration in the coming days.
They could not even predict the cascade effects the environmental harm could produce.
It’s very pitiful to depict that even educated people do not care about nature and the environment.
They have adequate knowledge that they should protect their nature and act wisely. But because of their carelessness, the globe is highly suffering from environmental degradation and the climate crisis.
Until people become aware and concerned about their environment, only the environmentalist effort to tackle the induced climate change and environmental degradation seems impossible for a prolonged period.
5. Lack of funding

As per the Paris agreement held in Paris of France, the developed countries have not provided financial aid to the developing countries to cut off greenhouse gas emissions.
Thus, in the lack of financial assistance, the environmentalists and the developing countries who possess less revenue within their country cannot afford climate change reduction costs in the mitigating measures.
The developed countries are already behind in providing climate finance $100bn to the developing countries from 2020.
Such actions make failures in adopting climate change and the environment deterioration mitigating measures.
Climate funding looks pretty imperative when it comes to environmental welfare.
6. Differences in policy making and practical assessment

Several policies regarding the environment have been established so far. Unfortunately, because of the lack of implementing the decisions made during the policy, the care to the environment has become less.
There is a lack of practical assessment of the established plans and the procedures.
Instead of actual actions, the environment change agreements have only been in the political announcement.
Despite numerous researchers, climatic scientists, and the climate enthusiastic working day and night to halt the nature issues, the political instability, and lack of proper coordination between developed and developing countries, the environmental action looks pretty null.
When the policies are not implemented according to the plan, the environmentalist cannot effectively control the environmental degradation and the climate change crisis.
Despite signature, ratification, and the well-managed negotiation, there is a problem in implementing the agreed plans and the policies.
Unless the proper oriented plan does not come under the practical implementation, negotiations between several developed and underdeveloped countries seem useless.
7. Legally bound agreement

Climate change has been the most challenging issue society has faced since long back.
As the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has revealed, the average temperature rises below 1.5oC worldwide by 2040.
Conference of Parties, 2009 held in Copenhagen, Denmark, prioritized the agreement made on the climate regime from 2012-2020.
The discussion and the initiation of the legally binding agreement gradually got lost when the developed countries did not share finance with the developing countries, which led to irresponsibility in their talk.
Although the environmentalist tries to address the issue concerning the environment, unsharing of the technologies and the resources could undoubtedly create loopholes for them to initiate the actions against the environmental harm.
Upon such consequences, the poor and the underdeveloped countries cannot face the extreme hazards and the detrimental effects created by the environmental change-induced impacts.
8. Unsupported from the developed countries
The environmentalists of the developing countries are behind the actions that target the environment conservation since the developed countries for the climate funding have not run according to the negotiated climate funding as per agreement which was against the CBDR (Common but undifferentiated principle).
This unsupport could be one of the basics lacking in climate funding: the climate crisis has existed for many years.
9. High nature dependency

Over the years, more people have been massively dependent on nature. People require more raw materials from nature in the digital age and modernization. Higher developmental activities have ruined and deteriorated nature.
In such circumstances, despite trying, the environmentalists have failed to attempt to work in the environmental harm and climate change.
Too much reliance on nature has created obstacles for environmentalists to succeed in environmental conservation for a prolonged period despite their efforts.
Several factors have contributed to the climate change and environmental hazards.
These entail El Nino, natural disasters, polar events, deforestation, species extinction, temperature rise, species trading, and many more.
These factors have added a challenge for the environmentalist to act sustainably for nature.
Although the environmentalists are working for the environment, the factors have triggered them to fail to halt the climate change issues.
Wrapping up
Until and unless there is joint action in tackling the climate change effects, it could inevitably continue the environmental harm for a prolonged period that the globe is facing.
Effective negotiation between the developed and the developing countries must be forwarded and implemented as per the goal-oriented plans. It could undoubtedly ensure the actions that welfare our environment over decades.
